Future Fridays: 05/31/24

It's Friday and it's the Future!

Hello!

And welcome to the future. Things can be tough right now but the future can be bright. You just need to force your way there.

Every Friday we talk about three different topics regarding the future.

  • One tip for future you.

  • One futuristic or innovative company.

  • One trending industry or subsection of business.

Diversify

This may be a topic forced into your head by listening to every financial expert, and every rich person ever. It’s for a good reason though.

Industries have their ups and downs. The housing market can crash. Your specific product can lose it’s trending appeal. Recession can hit.

Doesn’t matter the reason, most likely there will be a dip in how well one income stream is doing. Having multiple sources will help make up that money your missing when one isn’t doing so well.

Also, if you’re anything like me and have multiple interests, this idea can help you pursue those without losing out on the other things you enjoy.

LanzaTech is Pushing for Sustainability

Humans create waste. So much waste. WIth the trajectory of modern life there isn’t much of a way to change that.

Instead we need to address it and that’s what LanzaTech is doing.

From the waste we produce, they are taking the carbon and converting it into fuels and chemicals. It’s the ultimate form of recycling.

They are using microbes that consume carbon gases and convert them to pure ethanol. A literal species from a science fiction movie.

By harnessing these little creatures, they are taking one step for humankind towards a more sustainable future.

Telemedicine and Mental Health

Since COVID telemedicine has become a staple with health insurance policies and company benefits. For good reason.

It helps simplify life. When you’re sick as a dog, the last thing you want to do or should do is leave your house. Hopping on a quick Zoom call to figure out what's going on is ideal.

This type of ease is such a valuable service to anyone who wants to use this for mental health counseling or similar services.

For the last decade or so mental health has become progressively more addressed as an issue. We see it in the newer generations and even the (now) older generations who actively seek help.

One of the best things that can be done for this is breaking down the barriers in the way of getting help. Believe it or not, for people suffering from their mental health just leaving their house can be a hurdle.

Giving these people ease of access can be life-changing.
